Also on the subject of coincidences: a day or two after writing that last post, I went off to meet H, who left the company I used to work for to go off and dance tango in Buenos Aires for 6 months ... and yes, that is every bit as exotic as it sounds. Five minutes after leaving her, I bumped into another person I used to work with, and then 3 days later yet another one. Whatever happened to the anonymous, uncaring metropolis?

    You're Irish. In Ireland everybody knows somebody who knows somebody. Probably counteracts metropolis. Need to gather scientific data from 100 Germans!
